On Thursday 23rd October Ian Clarke (branch secetary) and Lesley Waudby (full time officer) attended a meeting with HR and management, to sort out a grievance rised by Ian Clarke.
The grievance was to get clarity on the wording in the company’s hand book at RR ops site on Raynesway, the area of clarification was on losing shift pay after 15 days. The management was interpreting as rest days included with working shifts as one, the unions interpretation was only worked days would count.
After providing evidence HR sided in favour of the union and an agreement was reached to back pay anyone in the affected department for the last 5 years and with a mediate affect only working days would now be counted.
